the riding experience
The town of Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,413 ft.) above sea level and unreachable by public road. To access Mürren, there is a tram that brings visitors to a small train station from which a 10 minute train ride across a picturesque landscape awaits. Once in the car free town of Mürren, we are at the base of the ski area.
Each day we will experience a different ski area and if conditions permit, we will explore some of the surrounding backcountry powder skiing. Situated near the massive peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and the Jungfrau, Mürren is one of the oldest ski resorts in Switzerland. Over the course of one week you will have the opportunity to ski the historic valleys of the Jungfrau Region and an exciting run down the Lauberhorn World Cup Downhill, one of the longest ski races in the world.
Ski endless powder fields over 3 valleys, and ride the famous Jungfraujoch train next to the Eiger. With the aid of our local professional guides and friends, we will make sure you have the best experience possible every day. We will plan on skiing off the Piz Gloria and Schilthorn, a day in Grindewald-First, a day exploring the Kleine-Scheidegg area, and a day skiing around the base of the Eiger and up to the Jungfraujoch. If conditions and time allow we have the opportunity to ski Meiringen-Hasliberg which allows guest to ski by train. That's 6 days of skiing the Swiss Alps in one of the most iconic locations in Switzerland.

Every morning a healthy breakfast with local ingredients will await you as we prep for the day. Lunches are enjoyed on the mountain or in local villages in each ski area along the way so you can sample a taste from all the areas we will visit (not included-except for one). A special lunch at the Schilthorn Summmit's Restaurant Piz Gloria is included as you spin 360' taking in the Swiss Mountain views. Kick back and enjoy the Après Ski scene in the afternoon after skiing the best runs of your life.
There is nothing like celebrating this epic day with new friends, new memories and a cold beers at the bar while looking back up to the glaciers. Enjoy a welcome and farewell 4-course gourmet dinner at the Hotel Edelweiss. The popular menu features regional specialties including natural ingredients. Their popular sun terrace offers breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain range as well as stunning open views of the surrounding Swiss Alps. Each day a new variety of flavors will leave you wanting more. There are about 20 places to eat in the village, almost all in the resort’s hotels and pensions.

Ski backpacks including beacon, shovel and probe are available to rent for $150 for the duration of the trip. (Option available to add-on at checkout. If you wish to add later please feel free to contact us)
If you wish to rent ski/snowboard equipment please let us know so that we can coordinate your rental. It is advised that you try to arrive with enough time on the arrival day to be fitted. Please advise the LGA Team before the trip if you will need gear. -

Day 1 - arrival day
Fly into Zurich International Airport (ZRH) by 1pm where the group will be there to transport you. In some cases you may need to plan your arrival the day before. There are many hotels near the airport offering shuttle service so it is easy to meet the group back at the airport by 1pm. We suggest using Booking.com to find a nearby hotel.
Le Grand Adventure Tours welcomes you to Switzerland! Upon landing at Zurich International Airport (ZRH) you will have a private transfer to your hotel. Inspiring views await you; our hotel overlooks the historic valley of Lauterbrunnen and the world famous Eiger mountain. This will be your home for the next week to explore this truly amazing area. Tonight is your time to relax by the hotel fire, explore the town, and enjoy a fresh cooked meal from a local chef at our Welcome dinner. Steep yourself in Swiss culture and immerse into European life.
If rentals are needed, we can arrange snow equipment for the week through local shops. If you wish to rent ski/snowboard equipment please let us know so that we can coordinate your rental. Day 2 - 7
Once in the car free town of Mürren, we are at the base of the ski area. Each day we will experience a different ski area and if conditions permit, we will explore some of the surrounding backcountry powder skiing. Situated near the massive peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and the Jungfrau, Mürren is one of the oldest ski resorts in Switzerland. Over the course of one week you will have the opportunity to ski the historic valleys of the Jungfrau Region, capture all the views at the New Skyline Walk at Birg station, explore Piz Gloria and the Schilthorn and ski an exciting run down the Lauberhorn World Cup Downhill, one of the longest ski races in the world.
Savor healthy local Swiss Breakfasts at the hotel with daily departures between 8:30AM-9AM. Ski 6 days with local guides deep into the heart of the Alps and across multiple valleys. We'll acclimate to the surroundings and terrain with ski runs at Mürren on the first day and depending on conditions we will ski some great powder. Early runs are used to assess skiing ability and go over key fundamentals for safe and effective travel in the high mountains. We will prepare everyone to be confident and comfortable with the week's upcoming locations. Daily ski destinations are decided upon with consideration of safety, weather, and snow conditions. Once everyone is up to speed it will be time to start exploring the Jungfrau Region. Throughout the week we will be exploring, Mürren, Grindelwald, First and Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen. All of the ski areas provide a wide range of trails and off-piste options. We will improve everyone's skills and ski ability, but most of all, have a blast!

Lunch on the mountain is followed by an afternoon skiing some of the best terrain in the Swiss Alps. One day we will enjoy a special lunch at the Schilthorn Summmit's Restaurant Piz Gloria, a revolving restaurant that spins 360' taking in the Swiss Mountain views. Experience Piz Gloria and the James Bond experience at the Schilthorn summit, which was featured in the 007 James Bond movie, "Her Majesty's Secret Service." At the end of the day let us show you the beautiful town of Mürren, enjoy après and if conditions permit we will try one of the local favorite winter sports-sledging (tobogganing.)
After a long day skiing and exploring, enjoy access to the Alpine Sports Centre including a swimming pool, jacuzzi and outdoor ice rink to conclude your day. Relax in one of the most picturesque villages in the world.
There will be a group Welcome Dinner to kick off the week and a Farewell Dinner at the Hotel Edelweiss restaurant. Each day offers you the choice of many great on-mountain and village restaurants. Be sure to make time for an evening stroll through the village at your own pace and dine at one of the many great restaurants. Day 8 - departure day
Relax and savor the beautiful mountain scenery on this final morning. We will say our goodbyes over breakfast and laugh over the great memories we shared over the trip. Transportation will take you back to Zurich where you can spend an extra night exploring the city or begin your journey home.
